Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of FocusLock ("the app"), developed by Rami Al-Karo ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using FocusLock you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use FocusLock on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules of the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Copy, redistribute, rent, lease, sublicense or resell the app.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
• Use the app unlawfully or in violation of these Terms.

4. Not medical or safety advice

FocusLock is a productivity tool that schedules and enforces focus and break intervals. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, ergonomic or health advice. Its break enforcement — the full-screen overlay, Strict break, Lock Mac and input-blocking options — is intended for personal productivity and self-discipline only.

Do not rely on FocusLock in any situation where a missed or delayed interaction with your Mac could result in harm.

5. Intellectual property

FocusLock, including its name, design, code, icons and assets, is the property of Rami Al-Karo and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding.

6. Updates

We may release updates that add, change or remove features. Updates are delivered through the App Store or, where applicable, other distribution channels. These Terms apply to all updates unless an update is accompanied by separate terms.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

FocusLock is free to download. Where optional paid features are offered, purchases and any auto-renewing subscriptions are processed and managed by Apple through the App Store, and are governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. We never receive or store your payment details.

8. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained FocusLock from the App Store or Mac App Store, you acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and us, not Apple.
• Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
• You will comply with applicable third-party agreements, such as your wireless data plan, when using the app.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

FocusLock is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, productivity, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, FocusLock, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it, if any.

11. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate them at any time by uninstalling the app. The provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date above changes with them. Continued use of FocusLock after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
